02Process name, PID, user, protocol, and network address
03Search across commands, process IDs, and addresses
04Refresh and explicit process termination actions

A supported Mac capable of running the published native release. The repository does not currently document a precise minimum macOS version.

01

Download the verified release

Use the latest release button on this page and select the published PortMonitor ZIP asset.

02

Extract the archive

Open the downloaded ZIP, then move PortMonitor.app to Applications.

03

Open the app

Launch PortMonitor from Applications. If macOS presents a standard security prompt, review the app source and publisher before deciding whether to open it.

Privacy & permissions

PortMonitor runs Apple’s local lsof utility to read connection information. The inspected source performs this work on your Mac; no remote account or cloud data store is involved.

Important safety note

The Kill action sends a force-termination signal to the selected process. This can interrupt applications, development servers, and system-adjacent services, and may cause unsaved work to be lost. Confirm the PID and process name before using it.

Removal

Uninstall cleanly.

01

Quit PortMonitor

Close the app before removal.

02

Remove the application

Move PortMonitor.app from Applications to the Trash.

Founder’s note
“PortMonitor grew from repeatedly reaching for lsof while developing. The goal is to make that useful local information calmer and easier to scan.”
